What are safety protection devices of horizontal windlass?

First, preventing over winding device. When lifting container exceed normal terminal stop position, it can cut off power automatically and make insurance brake have braking function.

Second, over-speed protection device. When the speed exceed 15% of the highest speed, it can cut off power automatically and make insurance brake play braking function.

Third, overload and under voltage protection devices. Overload relay is installed in main circuit or secondary circuit of current transformer. When actual current of electric motor is more than whole current, under-voltage protection device is installed in power switch cabinet, the voltage is less than allowable value, power switch trips automatically.

Fourth, speed limiting device. The winch with speed more than 3m/s must be equipped with speed limiting device. It can ensure that the speed of lifting container is less than 2m/s when it approaches terminal position.

Fifth, depth indicator failure protecting device. When depth indicator is not effective, it can cut off power automatically and make insurance brake play braking function.

Sixth, clearance protection device. When clearance exceeds specified value, it can alarm or cut off power automatically.

Seventh, loose rope protection device. The winch must be equipped with loose protection device. The device is connected with safety circuit and alarm circuit. Wire rope becomes loose, it can cut off power and alarm.

Eighth, deceleration protection device. When lifting container approaches deceleration position, it can slow down. Deceleration type includes free sliding type, mechanical brake type and electrical type.
